What you get
Ignite a passion for science with 4 complete chemistry lab kits. With Electrochemistry, you'll complete 2 experiments and engineer a clock that runs on just saltwater and strips of metal. With Fire Lab, you’ll create a colorful flame lamp and complete 7 combustion experiments. With Glow Lab, you’ll receive a UV light and mix up 3 glowing solutions. With Vortex Lab, you'll build a magnetic mixing machine and explore 4 amazing reactions. Recommended for Ages 14+.
All 4 projects delivered together.
1. Electrochemistry Lab
Produce an oxidation reaction that "eats" up aluminum foil. Test a voltmeter to learn about electric potential, and build a coin battery-powered LED light.
Individual price: $39.95
2. Fire Lab
Ignite chemicals and see the colors of combustion! Contains everything you need to try 7 experiments exploring the chemistry of oxidation, the flame test, and light energy.
Individual price: $34.95
3. Glow Lab
Mix up chemical solutions that glow in the dark! Contains everything you need to try 3 experiments exploring the chemistry of fluorescence, phosphorescence, and chemiluminescence.
Individual price: $44.95
4. Vortex Lab
Build a magnetic mixing machine and explore 4 amazing reactions that explore the science of solubility, reaction speed, and oxidation-reduction.
Individual price: $49.95
I wish this chemistry set were a bit less expensive, but the quality is quite good. It contains all the materials needed (and many experiments can be done at least twice), and the explanations of the science behind the experiments is the most clear of any chemistry set we've tried. It's rated age 14+, but my 10 year old was able to do it with a bit of help from an adults, and he loved it.
I did these plus the fire lab with my 10 and 14 year olds. We were all very impressed! They all had the wow factor that we've missed doing other science experiments in the past. The science is explained thoroughly and in a way that is understandable.
The whole family enjoys the fire lab. You must be prepared to supervise younger ones. I prefer to shop for specific crates rather than do the subscriptions. This was the first set I purchased outside of the monthly subscription plan. So glad we did.
